Bolt Action: 750pt Beginner Friendly Day
Sunday 11th October, 10am to 6pm at The Goblins Nook

Always fancied giving Bolt Action a go? This is the one for you. Three small, friendly games across the day with a break for lunch, and hopefully a good few people playing their very first games.

What you need
Your army, dice and a tape measure. The experienced players will have all the other gubbins covered. The only extra thing to buy is a box of order dice in a different colour to your opponent's.

Army building
750 points. You must include a Rifle Platoon, and you can add other platoons if you can fit them into the points. Dice cap of 9, so a maximum of 9 units per side to activate each round (for the brand new folks, that keeps the decisions manageable).

No Armies Of book? No problem. As it's a beginner event you can use the forces from the rulebook. You can also build up to date lists for free at easyarmy.com.

Missions and tables
Missions will be picked or randomised from the V3 rulebook, with a sense check so we skip the odd ones. Tables will be 4'x4' or 6'x4' depending on terrain.

Keep it friendly
This is about fun, not winning at all costs. Spread your points around and bring something that can scrap over objectives without catching a new player out. If you turn up with a min maxed list, you'll be lent an army to play with instead. Things we'll be keeping an eye out for:

• Autocannon car parks or formations of light vehicles
• Massed flamethrowers
• Very heavy tanks
• Cheap inexperienced officers leading squads of super elite troops
• Loads of infiltrators

Above all there's fun and dice rolling pride at stake. Let's make it a great day for everyone and keep the gotcha moments at home!
