Named after the earth plant Blechnum, the Alien Fern shares its long pinnate leaves but takes on a far more sinister character. In wet habitats, its brown to orange leaves form a symbiosis with highly toxic blue algae, turning bluish and deeply poisonous. A perfect addition to grimdark, sci-fi, or alien world bases where the environment itself is a threat.
