Battle Ready Armies
You will receive 10VP at the start of the game if your army is painted to a "Battle Ready" standard as per the current mission pack's definition. You may start the game if your models are fully built but you will not receive the Battle Ready 10VP.
If some attempt has been made to meet the Battle Ready standard but does not fully meet it because a model or more is not quite there yet, the TO can, at their discretion, award some VP towards battle ready. If in any doubt, please feel free to email me in advance or ask the TO on the day.
Terrain and missions
The terrain for your games will be on each table for you to arrange. Please use the following mission/map layouts:
Round 1 - Layout A
Round 2 - Layout B
Round 3 - Layout C
If you are missing or cannot locate a piece of terrain, please alert a TO.
Judges
The TO/judges are here to help you have a good game; please don't be afraid to call one over.
If you are unsure about how a rule works, can't agree with your opponent about an interaction, are unsure how an ability or mission rule should be resolved, or simply want clarification before making an important decision, please call a judge/TO.
Calling a judge is not an accusation against your opponent. It is completely normal in competitive Warhammer, and you will not be penalised for asking for help.
You should call a judge if:
- You and your opponent cannot agree on how a rule works.
- You are unsure whether something is allowed or legal.
- You are unsure whether something in a list is legal.
- You think you may have made a mistake and aren't sure how to resolve it.
- You are unsure how a mission rule, ability or interaction works.
- You are concerned that you may not finish your game within the round time.
- You need help understanding the tournament procedure or BCP.
- You think something has gone wrong and don't know what to do next.
- If you're not sure whether you should call a judge, call a judge.
Judges may ask both players for their understanding of what has happened and may check the relevant rules before making a ruling. Please allow the judge to make the ruling rather than continuing to argue the point between yourselves.
If you are running short on time, please let a judge know as soon as you become concerned, rather than waiting until the final few minutes. We can help make sure you understand the time remaining and how to proceed.
The TO/judge's ruling is final for the event. The aim of having judges is to make sure everyone can enjoy their games and feel confident that they are playing correctly.
Pairings
The first round will be paired randomly. The rest of the rounds will have Swiss-style pairings, where you will be paired against someone with a similar score.
If your opponent has not arrived when the round starts, please wait at your table for 10 minutes. If they have not arrived after this time please let a TO know.
In the case of there being an odd number of players in the event, the lowest ranked player without an opponent will be given a bye which is a win of 80VP.
If at any point you need to drop out of the tournament, please let a TO know.
Rankings
Players will be ranked by the following metrics: Wins > Battlepoints > Path to Victory.
Path to Victory is used as a further tiebreaker where players have the same number of wins and Battle Points; in most cases your Battle Points will determine your position.
